I made it!

Hey there everyone!

I made it to London "safe, happy and healthy" as Mom would say. My flight went very well. I set my watch to London time, took a melatonin to help me sleep, put on my eyemask and went to sleep at 8:30pm so I could get on the London schedule ASAP. Turns out, that was a GREAT strategy (thanks Stephen!) because all the other girls in my house are absolutely wiped out with jetlag, and I just feel as if I stayed up too late night.

I took an Heathrow Connect train to Paddington Station, then the Tube from Paddington to the  Kilburn Park stop. And yes Mom, they sell Paddington bear stuffed animals in Paddington Station. By that point, I was already noticing how amazingly nice Londoners are! From Heathrow to my apartment I had four people offer to help me move my luggage-- one of them a seventy-year-old man--, two people give me directions without any request, and one businessman tug my heavy heavy suitcase out of the Underground ticket gate that had decided to close on it. I love Londoners.

My flat isn't the adorable white one I saw on GoogleEarth when I typed in 2B Kilburn Park Road (in fact, the house I saw on Google Earth was labeled"2 (not 2B!)". So I guess they must get a lot of confused CAPA students knocking on their door. The girls in my house are all very nice and very fun. A bunch of us went out to dinner on Kilburn High Street (the main street of my neighborhood) and then wandered up and down the High Street scoping out restaurants, pubs, and convience stores, and shopping. Tomorrow we have our internship orientations (with CAPA staff, not our employers), and Friday we have a program party at a restaurant in The City (the financial district in the heart of London). Well I'm off to continue unpacking and watch some British T.V. with my flatmates.

Pictures to come soon-- right now I'm in a heated battle with my internet connection.
